چکیده

Background: Pursuant to establishing the proteomic distribution of MAPK ERK /MAPK p38 in the brain in a model of hypoxia-tolerance [Haddad, Protein Pept Lett, In press, 2007], I therein exclusively report the differential expression of MAPK JNK and related upstream and downstream kinases in various organs of the anoxia-tolerant turtle. Despite the fact that the aforementioned mechanisms involved dual expression of MAPK ERK , the mechanistic distribution of MAPK JNK has not been previously unraveled. Changes in the phosphorylation state of MAPKs may occur during anoxia, thereby reversible protein phosphorylation could be a critical factor and major mechanism of metabolic reorganization for enduring

Inactivation of mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway reduces caspase-14 expression in impaired keratinocytes

Objective(s):Several investigations have revealed that caspase-14 is responsible for the epidermal differentiation and cornification, as well as the regulation of moisturizing effect. However, the precise regulation mechanism is still not clear. This study was aimed to investigate the expression of caspase-14 in filaggrin-deficient normal human epidermal keratinocytes (NHEKs) and to explore the...

Replication of varicella-zoster virus is influenced by the levels of JNK/SAPK and p38/MAPK activation.

Stimulation of the Jun NH(2)-terminal kinase/stress-activated protein kinase (JNK/SAPK) and the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38/MAPK) is part of the stress-related signal transduction pathways conveying signals from the cell surface into the nucleus in order to initiate programmes of gene expression. Here, it was shown that infection by varicella-zoster virus (VZV) caused a 34-fold in...

Conditional expression of mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase-1, MKP-1, is cytoprotective against UV-induced apoptosis.

UV irradiation induces apoptosis in U937 human leukemic cells that is accompanied by the activation of both the stress-activated protein kinase (SAPK) and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathways. The MAPK phosphatase, MKP-1, is capable of inactivating both SAPK and p38 MAPK in vivo. To determine whether MKP-1-mediated inhibition of SAPK and/or p38 MAPK activity ...

THE EFFECT OF SIX WEEKS OF AEROBIC EXERCISE TRAINING ALONE AND ALONG WITH CONSUMPTION OF GINGER EXTRACT ENCAPSULATED IN CHITOSAN NANOPARTICLES ON CHANGES IN HEART TISSUE MORPHOLOGY AND EXPRESSION LEVEL OF MITOGEN-ACTIVATED PROTEIN KINASE (MAPK) GENE

Background & Aims: Exercise can also be effective in rehabilitating myocardial infarction by strengthening myocardial muscle tissue. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of aerobic exercise alone, and along with the consumption of chitosan encapsulated ginger extract on the histopathological characteristics of cardiac tissue and the level of MAPK expression in rats with myocardial infarction...
